Wisdom Created

(from notes by Mary Zarb, June 2025)

“God sovereignly made me—the first, the basic—
    before he did anything else.
I was brought into being a long time ago,
well before Earth got its start.
I arrived on the scene before Ocean,
yes, even before Springs and Rivers and Lakes.
Before Mountains were sculpted and Hills took shape,
    I was already there, newborn;
Long before God stretched out Earth’s Horizons,
and tended to the minute details of Soil and Weather,
And set Sky firmly in place,
    I was there.
When he mapped and gave borders to wild Ocean,
built the vast vault of Heaven,
and installed the fountains that fed Ocean,
When he drew a boundary for Sea,
posted a sign that said no trespassing,
And then staked out Earth’s Foundations,
I was right there with him, making sure everything fit.
Day after day I was there, with my joyful applause,
    always enjoying his company”
(Proverbs 8:22-30 MSG)

To me, Proverbs 8 is speaking about Christ the Wisdom and the power of God. If you can, have a look at this passage of scripture in The Message version (above) versus the English Standard Version (ESV), The Passion Translation (TPT), and the Amplified Bible (AMP).

Paul testified in his first letter to the Corinthians that Christ is the wisdom and the power of God.

“but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:24 ESV)

Then to the Colossians he writes that God created all things by Him, for Him, through Him, and unto Him were ALL things created.

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:15-17 ESV)

How absolutely amazing!!!!

Also, the Gospel of John says Christ IS the light that enlightens EVERY man that comes into the world.

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4 ESV)

Such wisdom and humility!!!!! God is sooo humble.

What a beautiful picture – wisdom standing by the Father or playing like a delightful child as Father created everything. Wisdom absolutely delighting in whatever the Father created. The Trinity had such fun and delight in creating the universe for man to enjoy.

The first chapter of Hebrews states that God created the worlds by the power of His word/Christ and maintains all things by the word of His power.

“but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:2-3 ESV)

I remember reading a saying from the “Gospel of Thomas” (gnostic gospel) which said, “cut a piece of wood – Christ is there …” When I read that to my friend I was looking out the kitchen window onto a back yard full of beautiful stately Aussie trees!!!

If God needed wisdom to create, how much more do we need the Wisdom of God to do everything in life, especially in prayer. I need to pray for wisdom at the start and end of each day; Wisdom leads me on a balanced path.

Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding
Be my Guide this day
And help me to walk in righteousness and truth.

Just pondering how God sees us; that He brings us into a covenantal marriage with His ONLY begotten Son, through whom He created everything, delighting in all He created.

Such power
Such love
Such grace
Such generosity

Father, thank You we are fearfully and wonderfully made!!!!!
(from Psalm 139:14)

After the Rainbow Came Hope by Marina Maria

After the Rainbow Came Hope is a book that represents a good example of a little boy who I met and told me, “All I want is peace in my life.” My heart ached, unable to share Jesus with him, and his words still linger in my mind leaving an unforgettable memory. I wonder how many youth are experiencing lack of peace in their lives in this generation? If they only knew that Jesus provides them with unconditional love, eternal peace, healing and the promise of a brighter future with Him. My hope is for this generation to know and accept Jesus in their lives and to fulfil His purpose and plan for their lives.

After the Rainbow Came Hope is a raw memoir of the resilience, healing, and uncompromising faith of a teenager. In this personal testimony, the author gives all glory to God for guiding her to walk on the path to healing and accomplishing her first major dream to graduate from high school on time. She shares her childhood journey undergoing domestic violence, sexual abuse, academic struggles, and poverty—toward healing and ultimately, a hope for the future.

Though she hadn’t surrendered her life to Jesus as a child, He was already at work in her life, displaying the first important sign of hope through a poem about a rainbow shared by a childhood best friend in elementary school. That rainbow became a key symbol of God’s faithfulness and mercy and a major turning point in her life to triumph over home life and impoverished conditions to graduate high school on time.

This book is rooted in scriptures like Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28 and Genesis 9:13-17, which are powerful encouragement to the hopeless and brokenhearted. This book is for the youth or anyone who has ever felt lost, unloved, or hopeless, and is ready to discover unconditional love and peace and start the healing process with Him.

After the Rainbow Came Hope by Marina Maria can be purchased on Amazon in paperback and as a Kindle book everywhere.

Pray for the Church in the Arts

“The Christian is the really free person – he is free to have imagination. This too is our heritage. The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars.” (Francis A. Schaeffer, Art & the Bible)

(by Bjorn Schmid)

Christ’s sacrifice was not just for our salvation, it was to bring us back into a relationship with Farther God, but also it set us free to become truly and beautifully made in the image of God. We are no longer bound by sin and guilt to the limitations of earthly (mundane) thinking and imagination, we can now continue our growth and maturity into all the wonders and glory that is here in shadow or miniature replica of what is waiting for us in the heavenly (spiritual) realm. When combined with artistic talents and skills, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, believers in Christ can create expressions of eternity in physical media: visual art, literary art, and performed art. These media creations can inspire people to imagine past earthly life and to desire and seek the way to fulfilling spiritual life, i.e. in Christ.

(Excerpt below is from 40 Days Prayer and Fasting for 7 Mountains or Spheres of Influence by Lilian Schmid, available on Amazon & Kindle)

Pray for Christian actors, designers, director, producers, technical staff, and other people who are working or seeking work in Arts and Entertainment.

By this I know that you delight in me:
my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.
But you have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in your presence forever.
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.
(Psalm 41:11-13 ESV)

Pray that the Holy Spirit inspire them in all that they do to excel in what they do and uplift the souls of all they come in contact with, ether personally or through their works.

Pray they also have the gifts of discernment wisdom and knowledge so they can identify when the enemy is trying to drag them down, and then to resist him and his schemes.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
(2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NKJV)
