March 2013 - Government and Military
Prayer this month is focussed on:
- Councils, NSW and Australian Parliaments, both elected and appointed public officials, and supporting public servants
- The NSW Premier, the Prime Minister, and their cabinets
- NSW and Federal Opposition Leaders and their shadow cabinet members
- Our NSW Govenor, the Governor General, and their support staff
- Our Australian Defence Force leadership and people - especially those posted overseas
- Australian Diplomats and Embassy staff across the world, who represent our country, government and defence interests

As well as praying through this every day, you may also like to focus on one or two lines or scriptures per day and pray in depth for the topic.
Praying for our Defence Force:
Psalm 91 describes the security of the one who trusts in the Lord.
Not only was it prayed by the psalmist thousands of years ago, but by countless men and women throughout history.
For example, during World War I, the 91st Brigade of the Army prayed Psalm 91 together every day.
Although they were engaged in three of the bloodiest battles in the war, these soldiers had no combat-related casualties.
Not because the passage was a good luck charm or mantra, but because God's word has power.
When we pray His word, we are paving the way for His grace, power and protection to come in our lives and the lives of those we intercede for.
As Hebrews 4:12 says, "The word of God is living and powerful" - powerful because all the power of God's inherent nature stands behind His word.
Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right for this country,
also that our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God.
That is what we have to pray for: that there is a plan, and that that plan is God's plan.
So bless them with your prayers.
